GTG’s ICS Software Suite marks a new level of integrating information into social spaces. Connecting all relevant on-site sources, it transforms unstructured and inaccessible data into relevant and appealing information. ICS supports social spaces by supplying relevant information to people and groups and enables recombination of original knowledge into innovative insights.

ICS is the scalable software technology platform by GTG.   It provides the backbone of any GTG solution in corporate or public space.

GTG ICS is designed as a distributed architecture with three layers, each with a standardized API that allows for efficient solution integration. The first two layers – Data Integration and Content Manager – form the backend of GTG solutions. The third layer – Content Surface – yet is part of the user front-end, making information accessible in physical space at the TouchPoints. 

ICS unveils the virtual ecosystem of a company by providing unified and easy access to the multitude of corporate data sources. With ICS, users can experience and apply the joint knowledge of an organization in real time, across physical spaces and within varying social contexts. Data and knowledge are unified in a direct and tangible way, showing carefully organized inherent relationships visualized for users at designated TouchPoints.


Data Integration

The Data Integration module connects multiple data sources via data connectors, and is able to read and write unstructured data from these sources for further processing. In corporate environments, we distinguish between internal and external data sources:

Internal data sources may include a given Enterprise 2.0 system, product databases, CRM systems or Business Intelligence systems of a corporation.

External data sources are often social media sources. Some of these are Facebook, YouTube or Twitter and other relevant websites with content such as user reviews or content from web syndications.

Content Manager

The Content Manager module creates a continuous flow of information, based on rules which can be freely defined. Additionally, it provides several search possibilities for the user to retrieve specific search results. It also manages user-profiles and is thus capable of creating personalized recommendations.

Content Surface

Each GTG Corporate Space Solution contains Content Surface modules, which provide the software for all our physical front-end TouchPoints. Front-end modules are customized to match a client‘s solution and have the ability to work in a variety of custom TouchPoint configurations. These TouchPoints can come in the form of a custom designed facility or a pre-existing device like the iPad, and can be either passive or provide interactivity through input devices in the form of natural user interfaces for direct manipulation. Regardless, these customizations are all based on the same core modules.

Front-end modules are made scalable to allow for the realization of different configurations through synchronization mechanisms across both input and output devices. Not only is user input recognized across synchronized modules, but gesture recognition and visual representations are also synchronized to generate one coherent representation across multiple output devices.

These synchronization capabilities, together with an underlying multi-user interaction architecture, allow the design and implementation of TouchPoints that provide access for multiple co-located users.
